Problem Statement
For my Advanced Product Development course, I was tasked with designing a novel product from initial concept to working prototype. I decided to redesign the piano for individuals with upper limb mobility.
Ideation & Research
I employed the Double Diamond design process to deeply explore a variety of mechanisms and concepts. Alongside rapid prototyping, I conducted user interviews to understand the mobility capabilities of humans, specifically with their legs and feet. Additionally, I took apart a Portable Desk Pedal Exerciser to further understand the ergonomic design, build quality, and manufacturing processes for a product like this.
